Upgrade Confession

Because of Jesus’ resurrection life in me, I am getting stronger and stronger

every day. My eyes are seeing more clearly, my ears are hearing better, my

mind is functioning perfectly and every bone, every organ, every nerve and

ligament is daily being supercharged with the Glory of God. The same spirit

that raised up Jesus from the dead is now dwelling in me and is constantly

making alive my mortal flesh. My days are being lengthen and my youth is

renewed like the eagles.

In Jesus’ name, Amen!

(Romans 8:11; Psalm 103:5)

4/12/2020  8:30am

Good Resurrection morning,

This is the day which the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! This day is the most impactful day for Christians worldwide because the resurrection of Jesus Christ marks the very premise and core of the foundation for which Christians believe. So today we celebrate the victory of Jesus over death, hell, the grave, sickness and disease, and the curse at large.

Today we will celebrate this victory in our virtual church gathering on our YouTube Livestream channel, Facebook Live, and the Prayer Conference Call line beginning at 10:00am. Resurrection Day is also symbolic of Jesus being the Firstfruit from them that slept (1 Corinthians 15:20-23), therefore it is also our annual time of giving a special Firstfruit seed offering commemorating the resurrection of our Savior and Lord. Due to this season of social distancing, we have come up with a creative way to corporately participate: it will be done “Drive Thru” style. As a church family, after our morning virtual service between 12:30pm – 1:30pm, we will all meet at the church in our vehicles and drive thru the property and give our gifts without leaving our vehicles. It will give everyone who comes an opportunity to see some of their brothers and sisters that we miss gathering with since this current season has affected us. It will also allow us to give our special seed, and also I will be able to speak a special blessing over each family (vehicle) as they pass through. It’s going to be exciting.

Also, we will be distributing masks and gloves to those who desires them for when going grocery shopping and getting necessities. I’m looking forward to seeing and greeting many of you on this special day.

God Bless You And May Grace Be Unto You!

4/5/2020  6:00AM

God bless you Grace Family,

My prayer is that everyone is well and safe.

It’s been about a week or so since I’ve written you and about a thousand years, it seems, since we’ve been physically together in worship. I can testify that I understand what David the Psalmist wrote about when he spoke of the saints who were carried captive into Babylon and were weeping by the rivers, remembering Zion (ref. Psa. 137). Just like they were missing their homeland, we are missing our local church fellowship and gatherings. But in spite of this present season, we don’t waver because our confidence and hope is in Jesus. We were built for this; no bed of ease, but resilient fervor fuels our passion to overcome every challenge.

We use this time to refresh and re-tool for the promising new season that is ahead of us. As we approach it, we bring the track record and character of faithfulness, the readiness to serve, and the focus of a single eye, that we might advance the Kingdom of God in our generation.

As we continue to move forward, our worship gathering will proceed through the virtual platforms and the Prayer Conference Call line until we are cleared to gather again at the Worship Center. Today we celebrate “Palm Sunday” remembering the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem where they took palm branches  to meet Jesus shouting, “..Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!..” (John 12:13)

Next week we will be celebrating “Resurrection Sunday” (Easter), where we remember Jesus rising victoriously from the grave with all power. His resurrection brought defeat to death, hell, and the grave. On this day, Jesus became the firstfruits of them that slept (1 Cor. 15:20), therefore we recognize the firstfruit principle by actively participating in firstfruit giving.

As some have inquired on how we can make this day special in the midst of this challenging season, I’d like to present a moment that we can mark a special memory for this day. On next Sunday April 12th, Resurrection Day, we will conduct a corporate drive thru firstfruit giving hour from 12:30pm – 1:30pm right after the message on our social media platforms. What that means is, I am inviting you to come to the church in your vehicles, and while remaining in your vehicles, everyone will slowly pass through the parking lot with their envelopes following the directions that we will provide to keep everyone safe. This will allow for a few wonderful things to happen: 1) we can bring our firstfruit offering to the house of God, 2) you’ll have an opportunity to see and wave at your brothers and sisters that you’ve missed in this season, and 3) I’ll get a chance to see the saints and speak blessings over you.

I want to be clear that this drive thru will be very safe and no one will be in jeopardy of any personal contact. Anyone who has already given their firstfruit offering are welcome and encouraged to attend the brief drive thru for the visual connection and blessing that I will be speaking over every vehicle that comes through. I will be sharing the details again during the course of the week through text messages, emails, and during our bible studies.

In my neighborhood last week, the local middle schools’ Principal and teachers, drove through the neighborhood greeting and waving with signs on their vehicles at the students and parents who stood at the various bus stops. It was such a wonderful and refreshing demonstration of care and support shown to the students and parents by the faculty. It was an inspiration to me to see that type of display.

Finally, be sure to join us on our YouTube channel, Facebook Live, and Instagram at 10:00AM for our Sunday Morning worship service. Also, let’s continue in our generosity in giving into the kingdom of God for the expansion of the gospel through our online process: mygwcc.org/giving; or send in the mail to: GWCC, 750 Wethersfield Ave., Hartford, CT 06114; or you can use our new method of giving in this season, CASHAPP: $GWCC0613 (make sure to identify the type of giving ie: Tithes, Faith, etc. and identify your full name).

Looking forward to an amazing, powerful, and safe week.

3/27/2020  8:15pm

Greetings to My Grace Family and Partners,

It is with the joy of the Lord that I greet you today. We together have dug our heels in the dirt as we are anchored in the hope of Jesus Christ securely in this season of challenge. Our ability to persevere is a demonstration of the character developed in us from past seasons of adversity. The Bible says, (Proverbs 24:10 KJV) “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small”. The community of faith that prevails, is one that functions in the power of agreement. In 2019, “Agreement: The Key To Manifestation”,  was the cultivating theme that was dug out in the heart of Grace that has unified us for such a time as this.

As we progress further into 2020 with the theme, “Picture This”, it provides the light that continues to shine in this current darkened season, lighting the way and ensuring that we won’t be detoured, hindered, or even stopped in accomplishing the vision goals of this year. With this as fuel in the tank, I am officially announcing a very special day of ministry in honor and respect of the 2020 Women’s Retreat. This is the weekend that our Women’s Retreat was to convene, March 27th – 29th, and tomorrow, Saturday March 28th, we have scheduled a VIRTUAL PRESENTATION of the Word that is prepared around this year’s Retreat theme “Look Again”.

The dynamic speakers for the Virtual Woman’s Retreat are: Bishop Steven Hodge, First Lady Min. Shirleen Hodge, and Min. Candace Chester Mafe. The Virtual Women’s Retreat will be hosted on the Youtube Livestream platform. The scheduled times of the streaming broadcast will be:

Intercessory Prayer from 6:30AM – 7:00AM (on the Prayer Conference Call Line)

The opening welcome and schedule @ 10:30AM with Women’s Chapter Leader – Minister Brenda Chester;

11:00AM – 12Noon Speaker, Bishop Steven Hodge Pt. 1;

1:00PM – 2:00PM Speaker, Bishop Steven Hodge Pt. 2;

4:00PM – 5:00PM Speaker, First Lady Min. Shirleen Hodge;

6:00PM – 7:00PM Speaker, Min. Candace Chester Mafe;

7:00PM Closing Remarks, Min. Brenda Chester.

The day will begin with Intercessory Prayer from 6:30AM – 7:00AM on the Prayer Conference Call Line – (712) 770-5505, Access Code 510176#. Feel free to join us to start off a day of impact.

We anticipate this day of ministry to be epic. While initially it was designed for those women who registered for this weekend, it is now opened to the entire church, partners, loved ones, and friends locally as well as across the nation. I encourage you to invite at least 20 people each to join us for our VIRTUAL WOMEN’S RETREAT that will be convening tomorrow morning at 10:30AM. Don’t miss this time of gathering as we “Look Again”. You may be surprised what will come into view.

God Bless You And May Grace Be Unto You!!!!!

The Broadcast will be streamed on Youtube Livestream (go online to YouTube and in the search bar type, Grace Worship Center Church and see the broadcast live. Be prepared to click the purple GWCC logo on the right if it is not live at the start time.)

3/24/2020  3:05pm

God bless you and special greetings to all.

It is with great joy that I send this note to you my precious GWCC family. As we continue moving forward in this season, I encourage you to rest in the peace of God. When you are resting in His peace, you experience nothing broken, nothing missing, completeness, wholeness, prosperity, and safety. Jesus said in John 16:33 AMPC, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world.

[I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]”

There is so much favor in His peace.

This past weekend, we had an extraordinary worship experience where the Praise and Worship was passionate and exciting and the Word was fitting for our times, but I learned early on that the virtual platforms that we use to broadcast the service on your devices (computer, iPads, mobile phones, tv’s, etc.) suffered overload and crashed because of numerous amounts of people who were using the same platform as our church family. We were informed that Instagram was the only platform that was successfully providing viewership with sound, but even there, we had an interruption which was restored after discovered. I want to say thank you to the many of you who were concerned that sent messages that informed us of the streaming status. Needless to say, after hearing of what had occurred, I was disappointed that our people didn’t get the full worship experience that the team prayerfully and in effort, worked soo hard to provide. But thankfully, we are doing our do diligence to insure that we don’t have the same challenge this coming weekend. There is no reason why we cannot provide the quality ministry to our local church and community that will inspire us towards the things of God and feed our purpose. The church was never limited to one setting for its edification. I was reminded yesterday of how the church began from house to house, and that throughout history when there was a major challenge within our society that caused us to disburse, it actually moved the gospel to a wider audience. So what am I saying? I’m saying that the church which is built upon the rock of the revelation of Jesus Christ, prevails over any strategy of satan or otherwise to stop its earthly mission. So let’s dig deep in prayer and devotion during this time of opportunity so that when we emerge from this season, we’ll make greater impact with the love and compassion of Jesus on the world around us.

Let me also encourage you in our generosity giving. In this time, the church must be stronger than ever in its financial support with resources to be able to respond to you our community of faith, as well as maintain our commitments to the businesses who partner with us in providing our facility and services for the house of God. I know that a few of us may have been impacted on our jobs through limited hours on the job or even temporary layoffs which may present a challenge, but always know that seeds sown in the past produces a harvest in our now future. Let me also say that God multiplies every seed sown now. Don’t let the enemy discourage you in despising what you have now. Our faith is the barometer and environment of which our seed is nurtured. To our entire family of faith, we have provided for you our Mobile Online/Electronic Giving process which makes giving more efficient for most. It allows you to give your Tithes and Offerings directly from your account to the church (https://www.mygwcc.org/giving/). This works most effectively now since we are in a temporary order of social distancing. I am also setting up “CashApp” that will assist in making giving simpler for your contributions. I will inform you when we are up and running with that application. For those of us who are still a little uncomfortable getting use to the online electronic method, you can still use the US Postal Service to mail in your Kingdom contribution (GWCC, 750 Wethersfield Ave, Hartford, CT. 06114). Your faithful financial support keeps our church strong in stewardship of kingdom business. This past week was not our best and is not reflective of the generosity of our church that we demonstrate on a weekly basis. I am confident nonetheless, that we will bounce back this week quickly from the initial impact of the social distancing sacrifice that this pandemic has caused as a combative response. Circumstances come in varying displays and forms, but the Word of God with His promises, never change. This season won’t change the word, but the word will change this season.

In closing, I am aware that we may have members who do not have or may not use email or text for communication purposes, so I am working to identify those so that correspondence will get to them as well during this season of social distancing. Please continue to take great caution in this season of sacrifice as we stay connected. Don’t forget to join me tonight and tomorrow night for “A Touch of Grace” and our midweek Bible Study on the Youtube Livestream platform (in the search bar on YouTube type: Grace Worship Center Church). I’m looking forward to meeting you there.

God Bless You And May Grace Be Unto You!!

Staying connected,

Bishop H

/21/2020  11:00pm

Good evening Grace Family,

Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. My prayer is that we are all safe and doing well.

A quick reminder to everyone about our Sunday Morning Worship Service schedule. Because of restriction on large gatherings during this season, we will be streaming our service at the regular time of 10:00AM by way of: “Facebook Live”, “YouTube Livestream”, “Mygwcc.ChurchOnline.org”, and “Instagram”. We will also be preparing our Prayer Conference Call line for telephonic voice access for anyone who may not have access to the other options provided.

Please feel free to invite other family members and friends to join us online for this spirit-filled worship experience. There will be great singing, great info, and a great Word from the Lord. Don’t miss it! Also, I am asking that you consider setting apart your focus for that time of worship in your homes as we would if we were in the actual church sanctuary. I ask you to consider this because, I don’t want distractions to take advantage of our relaxed state and we miss out on something important that Holy Spirit may be revealing or wants to reveal to you.

I’m expecting something amazing to happen in this worship experience and can’t wait to meet you and greet you online. Again, that’s 10:00AM sharp. Let’s continue to stay the course in faith, divinely protected by His blood, as we navigate this season with wisdom and caution to remain in good health.

God Bless You And May Grace Be Unto You!!

3/18/2020  10:30pm
Hello Grace,
I bring you greetings in the greatest name ever, Jesus Christ.
As I stated, I will be in touch with you on an ongoing basis to keep you encouraged and informed on our progress and our process. Let me say that in the midst of all that has occurred thus far so quickly, we as a family of faith have been adjusting well and have demonstrated great patience during this trial of our faith. the Bible says in 1 Peter 1:7 KJV,
“[7] That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”
We will continue to provide ministry to you that will edify you and your family so that no one will suffer from the lack of spiritual nourishment. I believe that the Word of God is His wisdom, and it is His wisdom that will be the compass in our hands and heart that will successfully be what navigates the sullied waters that we walk through in this season. The wise man Solomon says that we are to guard our hearts with all diligence because the well springs of life flows out of it. We must protect our heart, our ears, and our mouth from negativity that will sway us away from the peace of God and our confidence in Him. Negativity sown is negativity multiplied in harvest.
Here is some updated information that will assist us in remaining in agreement with one another and with the plan of God in this season:
Our Wednesday midweek bible study at 7:00pm will be aired on our YouTube channel. Using your phone or other electronic devices, type in Grace Worship Center Church in the search bar/box. Once you do so, you will see the live stream. Don’t forget to subscribe once you are on. You will also see other archived messages.
For Sunday worship services at 10:00am, we will be streaming on our Youtube livestream channel, Facebook “Live” (go to Grace Worship Center Church Facebook page or mygwcc.org and click on Facebook and you will see the service on “live”), and ChurchOnline (mygwcc.churchonline.org). We are anticipating spirit filled, power packed services and bible studies.
Finally as an update, please make a note that the 2020 Women’s Retreat is cancelled due to the gathering restrictions imposed from the current coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). I am currently working on the details internally and with the venue to finalize things in order for us to respond with any refunds that are due to our registrants. Thank you in advance for your patience as I look to handle this business as efficiently and quickly as possible. Let me say two quick things about the retreat: to our registrants, thank you soo much for your anticipated willingness to be a part of this years’ planned retreat. Your excitement was like a fire waiting for more wood. It was instrumental in stirring the kind of atmosphere that welcomed the supernatural in our church this year. And to the 2020 Retreat Committee, your untiring commitment and work effort was the impetus that generated the excitement toward this years event. Thank you for serving so faithfully together managing your assignments with care. A special thank you to you Min. Brenda for spearheading this effort once again this year. Outstanding job to the glory of God!
Looking forward to the greater that’s ahead of us in all things for GWCC! Gotta go for now, but I will remain in touch.
God bless you,
Bishop H
God bless you to all of my Grace Family,
This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it!!!
I write to you rejoicing because the Lord is on our side which guarantees victory. The Bible says, “Now thanks be unto to God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.” 2 Corinthians 2:14
Our nation, along with the nations of the world, is facing a pandemic of the coronavirus which reportedly is spreading. Our President, along with the Governor’s of our states and the Mayor’s of our cities, at the advisement of our chief health authorities, has issued executive orders to the American public to counter this viral attack. It addresses gatherings which was limited to 250 people, then amended to 50 people, and now strongly advised and amended to 10 people; schools are closed; stores are closing early; restaurants are curfewed and limited to take out and drive thru orders; fitness studios, sporting events, recreational facilities, and movie theaters have been directed to close its doors. The latest order adds religious, spiritual, and worship gatherings to the list of closures, all of which has been ordered to do so for the next two (2) to three (3) weeks unless otherwise amended.
One may ask, “why are these measures so extreme?” It is a very viable question to ask. The answer lies within the strength of the virus to be transmitted through the passing of its germs that attacks weak immune systems which could prove to be fatal to the most vulnerable. These measures have been chosen to protect against the carelessness that a few may operate in. If these measures are adhered to, only 2% to 3% of our overall nations population will be affected. But the truth of the matter is, we don’t want any of our loved ones and friends to be affected by it.
Ok, so then what is the response of the church? First of all, The Body of Christ (the Church) has the perspective of God and therefore is not shocked by this sudden rise of this previously unassuming virus. Secondly, we rebuke the spirit of fear which is companion to this virus because we are divinely protected by the blood of Jesus along with angels charged to keep us in all of our ways. Thirdly, we stand in prayerful fervent intercession as our responsible offensive position to shut down its attempted agenda to hurt and ultimately paralyze the peoples of this world. Fourthly, we educate as many as possible on the authority that has been given to us in Jesus Christ so that we can be fully armed for attacks likes this that will come in these last days. Fifthly, we follow wise counsel so that we don’t foolishly compromise the strategic plans laid out to insure our victory. God says to us in scripture that, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:…” (Hosea 4:6), and also, “Neither give place to the devil” (Ephesians 4:27).
How will Grace proceed in this current climate?
We will follow the spiritual biblical principles of scripture unwavering in our faith with a unified goal to eliminate this pandemic. We will make the short term (temporary) sacrifice of not gathering together in the physical church for the long term victory of the spared lives of our loved ones and fellowman. This move is not a representation of any sign of weakness or lack of faith. It is in fact a demonstration of our faith to the satanic world that the Kingdom of God is superior in its strategic flexibility under the worst set of circumstances. The Apostle Paul said, (Philippians 4:11-13 AMPC)
“[11] Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am. [12] I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want. [13] I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]”.
Furthermore, a quick look at Exodus 12 will confirm this strategy of the covering and protection of the blood: (Exodus 12:13,22 KJV)
“[13] And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are : and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. [22] And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.”
The protection plan in this text gives the condition of staying under the blood covering and staying inside the house until morning. This depicts the strategy of prevailing over a potential deadly situation.
We will continue to meet at our regularly scheduled times for bible study on Wednesday and Thursday @7PM and Sunday morning Worship @10AM, but we will gather using social media and livestream. That means, we will use the platform of our YouTube Livestream (just like on Tuesday nights), Facebook “Live”, and ChurchOnline streaming. *On Thursday nights we will maintain use of our Prayer/Conference Call line (phone) for bible study to maintain the continuity of that normal flow.
Finally, I will be following up by morning with instructions on how to connect on those platforms for our times of study and worship.
Note: Our generosity in stewardship giving will continue as normal so that the ministry can remain strong to accomplish our mandated vision goals. (mygwcc.org/giving)
Stay close for the next update. Be blessed and super encouraged while you remain prayerful and use caution.
Much love,
Your Bishop,
Steven Hodge
